What is account book?

WidenHome uses account book as the unit to manage financial data, so before keeping accounts you must open an existing account book, or create a new account book. An account book is a separate file, you can put it in any places where you like, just need to open it by WidenHome when accessing account book file. Generally, you are suggested that don't put account book file into the installation folder, but put it into a separate directory, in that case, it is very convenient to upgrade WidenHome in the future, and also it is safer for protecting data.

Create New Account Book

When starting WidenHome, there will be a dialog shown for opening account book at first. On the bottom left of this dialog, there is a "New Account Book" button, click this button, it will launch a "New Account Book" dialog, as the picture shown below.

Input detail information for the account book in this dialog:

• name: Input a name for the new account book as whatever you like.
• File Location: The location to store the account book file, you can put it into any directories that you like.
• Currency: The default currency of the account book, for example, if you are in china, the default currency should be Chinese Yuan (CNY), and if you are in America, the default currency should be US Dollar (USD).
• Password: Set password for the account book file to increase security.
• Retype Password: Retype the password to make sure there is no typo.

After inputting all information, click "Ok" button, and wait for several seconds, the new account book will be created successfully. After creating account book successfully, use the dialog of opening account book to open the account book file, as the picture shown below.

In this dialog, choose the specified account book file first, and then input the password of the account book. If you don't want to input the password again next time, just need to select the "Remember password?" check box. At last, click "Open" button to enter the main interface of WidenHome.
