Overview of Subject Structure
Before keeping accounts, one of the most important things is planning the subject structure of your own. What is subject structure? Subjects will be used to classify your financial data, for example, your asset includes cash on hand, cash in bank, and fixed asset and so forth, then cash on hand, cash in bank, and fixed asset are three different subjects. What a simple example, right? So we need to set our subjects before keeping accounts. The asset just mentioned is only one of the subject types, totally we have five subject types:
- Asset
- Liability
- Owner's Equity
- Income
- Expense
For the subjects in each subject type, it already has a default integrated subject structure in this software, which is almost enough to you to use. But some subjects should be set correctly by you so that we would use this software better. For example, bank accounts or credit cards of everyone are different, so the subject structure will be a little different accordingly. Now I will describe the subjects systematically that are required to be set, just follow my description and set your subject structure, everything will be ok.
Normally, the subjects under owner's equity and expense don't need to be set, I mainly describe the subject setting for asset, liability, and income subject types.
Manage Subjects of Asset
Select "Basic Data" -> "Subject Management" in the navigator on the left side, open the page of subject management.

Among the subjects of asset, the cash in bank is required to be set. Just add your bank accounts as child subjects of "Cash in Bank" subject, regarding the picture above, I added "ICBC Current" and "CCB Current" two subjects.
Other subjects of asset can be added subjects as child as well, but it's optional and depends on your actual situation.
Manage Subjects of Liability
Among the subjects of liability, the credit cards is required to be set, don't forget, credit card is also your liability. It will be convenient after you set these subjects. Please see the picture below, I have three credit cards, then I added three subjects - "CCB", "CMB", and "ICBC" under "Credit Card" subject. Of course if you don't have credit cards, you don't need to set these subjects under "Credit Card" subject.

Other subjects of liability can be added as well according to the actual situation, it's optional, and depends on your ability of planning, the better the plan you create, the easier you can see the data from financial reports.
Manage Subjects of Income
The subjects of income are mainly set to indicate origin of your income, Please see the picture below, let's say both Smith and his wife are at work, the Smith may add two subjects - "Smith" and "Smith's Wife" as child subjects under "Salary Income" subject.

After you have done the setting of subject structure as described above, you can start to keep accounts.
