Overview

Cash/Bank journal includes four input modes - "Withdraw", "Deposit", "Cash Transfer", and "Bank Transfer". In this tutorial I will describe the interface of each input mode by examples. Should you have any questions when you are using, please join our user groups or contact the author directly, you will get response certainly.

Withdraw

Scenario: On 15th October 2009, Smith withdrew 1000 dollars from his CCB current account in automated teller machine (ATM), and the ATM deducted 2 dollars as handling charge from his CCB current account. Smith recorded a "Withdraw" journal in WidenHome, as the following picture.

Now I will describe the meaning of each input field based on the example.


  • Trading Date: The date of the actual business transaction, for example, the date when Smith withdrew money is 15th October 2009.
  • Handled By: Indicates who handled this business transaction, it's optional. For example, Smith executed this "Withdraw" business transaction by himself, so he selected "Smith". If it was his wife, he might select "Smith's Wife" when he recorded the journal.
  • Description: Describes this business transaction briefly.
  • Cash Subject: By default, there is only on cash subject in the system, we can also create multiple cash subjects on demand. For example, "Cash of Smith" and "Cash of Smith's Wife".
  • Bank Subject: Indicates which bank account is withdrawn from.
  • Amount: The amount of transaction. For example, the amount that Smith withdrew is 1000 CNY.
  • Handling Charge: The handling charge for the transaction, if there is no handling charge, then it is no need to be filled. For example, Smith paid 2 CNY for handling charge when he was withdrawing.
  • Paid by this subject: Select subject that is deducted for handling charge from here. For example, the ATM deducted 2-dollars handling charge from the bank account of Smith.

Deposit

Scenario: On 16th October 2009, Smith deposit 2000 dollars cash into his CCB current account. Smith recorded a "Deposit" journal in WidenHome, as the following picture.

Now I will describe the meaning of each input field based on the example.


  • Trading Date: The date of the actual business transaction, for example, the date when Smith deposit money is 16th October 2009.
  • Handled By: Indicates who handled this business transaction, it's optional. For example, Smith executed this "Deposit" business transaction by himself, so he selected "Smith". If it was his wife, he might select "Smith's Wife" when he recorded the journal.
  • Description: Describes this business transaction briefly.
  • Cash Subject: By default, there is only on cash subject in the system, we can also create multiple cash subjects on demand. For example, "Cash of Smith" and "Cash of Smith's Wife".
  • Bank Subject: Indicates which bank account is deposited into.
  • Amount: The amount of transaction. For example, the amount that Smith deposited is 2000 CNY.
  • Handling Charge: The handling charge for the transaction, if there is no handling charge, then it is no need to be filled.
  • Paid by this subject: Select subject that is deducted for handling charge from here, if there is handling charge, just skip.

Cash Transfer

Scenario: On 16th Oct October, Smith was preparing a business trip to Singapore several days later, he came to bank, and bought 500 Singapore dollars by cash, also paid two Chinese Yuan for handling charge. Smith recorded a "Cash Transfer" journal in WidenHome, as the following picture.

Now I will describe the meaning of each input field based on the example.


  • Trading Date: The date of the actual business transaction, for example, the date when Smith did the transaction is 16th October 2009.
  • Handled By: Indicates who handled this business transaction, it's optional. For example, Smith executed this "Cash Transfer" business transaction by himself, so he selected "Smith". If it was his wife, he might select "Smith's Wife" when he recorded the journal.
  • Description: Describes this business transaction briefly.

Bank Transfer

Scenario: On 16th Oct October, Smith transferred 800 dollars from CCB current account to ICBC current account in electronic bank, and paid 2 dollars as handling charge. Smith recorded a "Bank Transfer" journal in WidenHome, as the following picture.

  • Trading Date: The date of the actual business transaction, for example, the date when Smith did the transaction is 16th October 2009.
